Applied Kinesiology Back to Treatment Modalities |
|
Applied Kinesiology is a technique that uses muscle testing of specific muscles of the body to determine if there is a dysfunction of the muscle itself or if there is some dysfunction with a specific tissue, organ, joint, or acupuncture meridian associated with that specific muscle. Specific muscles are reflexes for specific organs, meridians, the tissues associated with that organ, as well as the tissues involved with the muscle itself. If there is some dysfunction with an organ, for instance, then the muscle that is reflexively associated with that organ will also be somewhat dysfunctional and will test weak. Thus to the trained practitioner, Applied Kinesiology becomes a “window” into the body allowing the practitioner to diagnose and treat the patient’s condition. Treatments of conditions diagnosed by Applied Kinesiology techniques are treated with chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, and nutritional support.
