Benham Chiropractic was established in 2000 by Dirk A. Benham, DC. The clinic is located in the St. Louis, Missouri area and, more specifically, in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Benham Chiropractic is a natural health care clinic specializing in the whole body treatment of numerous disorders. Dr. Benham treats the whole body and not just the symptoms. It is this approach of looking at and treating the body as a whole that makes Benham Chiropractic unique in providing a natural approach to health care for the patient.
Benham Chiropractic is only interested in natural health care. That is, to restore the body's natural healing capabilities to heal itself. Every live body possesses an Innate Intelligence (Vital Life Force, Qi (pronounced Chee), or Spiritual Energy) that governs its physiologic functioning including the ability to heal itself and to protect itself from diseases and pathology. Whenever this Innate Intelligence is impeded, then diseases and disease processes take over a part of the body and thus the body as a whole can become dysfunctional. The goal at Benham Chiropractic is to remove the impediments or blockages to this Innate Intelligence and thus allow the body to heal itself naturally, without drugs or other medical interventions.
At Benham Chiropractic, the emphasis is in determining and treating the root cause of the patient's disease or dysfunction. In acute cases, the symptoms may be treated first, but the subsequent goal (as with chronic conditions) is to determine just why there is disharmony within the body that is producing the symptoms that the patient is experiencing. Any disease or dysfunction within the body is caused by a combination of the following factors: structural misalignment, toxic overload, nutritional deficiencies, and emotional components. At Benham Chiropractic these four factors (structural, toxic, nutritional, and emotional) are examined and treated in light of the patient's complaint and whole body condition.
