Low Level Laser Therapy         Back to Treatment Modalities

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), commonly referred to as Phototherapy or Laser (Photo) Biostimulation, is oftentimes utilized at Benham Chiropractic.  A low-intensity laser is utilized to stimulate the natural healing processes of the cells being targeted.  It is also utilized to stimulate acupuncture points on the both the body as well as the ear for those patients who demonstrate a phobia for traditional acupuncture needles.

Low Level Laser Therapy is commonly utilized for: pain relief in acute and chronic conditions; to reduce the pain and swelling of inflammation; treatment of cold sores, shingles, and other skin diseases; sports and other 'over-use' types of injuries; muscle trigger points; headaches and migraines; acute and chronic wounds; joint pain; back pain; and carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.

Since Low Level Laser Therapy utilizes a pulsed laser of less than 500 milliwatts, there is no risk of tissue heating or burning.  As with all natural therapies utilized at Benham Chiropractic, there are no side effects with Low Level Laser Therapy.
